This is a conceptual project I did with Bojana Kovac during my studies. It was part of a module from the Urban Reconstruction department which I had specifically chosen to do in my fourth year. The department gave us the location and we designed the building and its purpose.
Culture and Arts Centre of Belgrade
The location of the reconstruction starts close to the Old Sava Bridge where a visual and physical context is established with the river which extends to Terazije (city centre). The location, which has been unused for some time, has huge potential due to its central location and due the significance the river has on those who live in Belgrade.
The form of the proposed building was designed to be elongated to align it with the river and a major part of the ground floor is open space to connect it with the riverside area. The building comprises: meeting rooms, educational centres, temporary and permanent exhibition spaces, photography section, study and catering facilities.
